Miscellaneous Stuff @ Pastor Tim:Born/Hometown: February 1, 1962 in Corpus Christi, TX. I grew up in Virginia Beach, VA and still think of that as home.Favorite Verse: Romans 8:28 (ESV) And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.Bible Translation Preferences: I teach from the English Standard Version. The ESV is becoming a standard, cross denominational version that ministries have adopted. I still am partial to the New American Standard and use it with the ESV in preaching. I also love the New Living Translation, especially when reading the Old Testament.Places I Have Lived: Corpus Christi, TX / Virginia Beach, VA / Columbia, SC / Surprise, AZ / Peru, IL / Geneva, IL / Bethalto, IL / Puerto Ordaz, VenezuelaFavorite Quote: “It seems easier to go to a consistent extreme than to stay at the center of Biblical tension.” Robertson McQuilkin, Chancellor, Columbia International University. Most Famous Person I've Met: Martin Sheen: He came to the church I attended in Virginia Beach, VA when I was a teenager. He was working on a movie in Norfolk and one of our church members was working on the movie set. I was 16 years old and my friend and I asked him to lunch (not sure if I even had money!). He graciously declined, but kept coming back to the church for a few weeks. Even on Wednesday nights, Sheen would go over to the gym and eat cookies at the fellowship time! He would become a big star the following year with the movie, "Apocalypse Now". Really nice guy, personal and humble. Crazy, huh?Influential Books: Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem, The Pursuit of God by A.W.
